The video is directed by veteran Hype Williams, and was filmed in Chicago using the always dope and classic black and white tones. Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead

Was listening to Radioheads album 'The Bends' and couldn't believe how good it still sounds. "Fake Plastic Trees" is a song that seems to have been written about the world of mass marketing and mass consumption. According to singer Thom Yorke, it is about Canary Wharf in London.

Directed by Jake Scott, the music video is set inside a supermarket where the band go around in shopping carts among several other characters, including clerks, children, an old man with a large beard who plays with toy guns, a woman in a large black hat, a bald man, a young man playing with a trolley, etc. The director has said about the video: "The film is actually an allegory for death and reincarnation but if you can read that into it you must be as weird as the people who made it."

Portishead: Third

The above video is “Machine Gun” and is taken from "Third" which is the third studio album by Bristol based band Portishead. The band was formed in Bristol, UK in 1991, by Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley. Previously, Barrow had been working as a tape operator (including work with Massive Attack and Tricky), Gibbons was singing in pubs, and Utley had played jazz guitar for Big John Patton and The Jazz Messengers. The trio created the short film To Kill a Dead Man, which was heavily inspired by espionage films, and its accompanying soundtrack persuaded Go! Beat Records to sign the band.

The "Third"album will be officially released on Monday, April 28, 2008 on Island. It is their first release in 10 years, and their first studio album in 11 years. It introduces a rawer, more lo-fi production sound than Portishead’s previous work. The first single from this album will be “Machine Gun,” which made its radio and download debut on March 18, 2008. It premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show and was made available for download on the band’s official website. A UK one-sided 12 inch vinyl release is set for release on April 14, 2008.

The band performed eight tracks from the new album and web casted it on their website yesterday. Current TV has it available to view until after the official US release on April 29th. It’s an interesting idea seen as they have basically vanished for the last 10 years.

MIT Brilliance -Nexi Robot

MIT Media Lab Personal Robotics Group have built a robot named Nexi that is able to move it’s hands and express emotions by conveying simple facial expressions. It's eventually going to be capable of social learning.

Altogether, they are developing a team of 4 small mobile humanoid robots that possess a novel combination of mobility, moderate dexterity, and human-centric communication and interaction abilities. Collaborators include Xitome Design and UMASS Amherst. This class of robots are referred to as "MDS" for Mobile/Dexterous/Social. Completion is targeted for autumn 2007.

The purpose of this platform is to support research and education goals in human-robot interaction, teaming, and social learning. In particular, the small footprint of the robot (roughly the size of a 3 year old child) allows multiple robots to operate safely within a typical laboratory floor space. MIT is responsible for the overall design, the mobile manipulator is developed by UMASS Amherst, and system integration is handled by Xitome Design.

Justice DVNO

Brilliant motion graphics.... even if you don't like the Justice sound! Art direction by So Me and Machine Molle, DVNO is a throwback to the motion graphics of the 80’s. Some graphics that appear are Channel 4, Hal 9000, HBO, SEGA, Cannon Films, 20th Century Fox, CBS/Fox and Stephen J. Cannell Productions.

Not sure if the same directors where involved in DVNO (more than likely though). Jonas & François are long time collaborators with So Me and have directed videos for Ed Banger Records (Justice’s label) in the past that include D.A.N.C.E

Also by Jonas & François is the Kanye West music video for The Good Life.
