Laurent Garnier - Back To My Roots

Its been five years since we’ve heard a new tune from Laurent Garnier. After a long absence the boss man is back with his Back to My Roots EP for the Innervisions label.

The story behind the track goes something like this: Garnier was playing at the Panorama Bar in Berlin last February, when he dropped a demo version of “Back To My Roots.” Innervisions’ co-boss Dixon heard the track and freaked out.

Says Garnier, “He said that he loved the sound of it and asked me what I wanted to do with it, mentioning that he would really like to release it on Innervisions. I went back home on the Monday and worked straight away on another track, which I named ‘Panoramix’ (a tribute to that night at Panorama). I sent a very rough demo to Dixon via download and received a text five minutes later saying that he wanted it. It happened really fast without me having any plans at all.”

The EP is due out May 19, and Dixon has described the track as a 'classic, timeless production'.
Elsewhere, Laurent is working on his new album, due out later this year, and is preparing for a world tour to promote it.
